　　最初動手譯寫 "How Great Thou Art"，純粹覺得如此重要的詩歌應該要有個叶粵音的版本。那已是 2014 年的事了。之後，陸陸續續還有些不大不小的修改。再之後，也許是 2016 年年底吧，覺得可以就此寫篇小文，記錄一下譯寫過程，不多久卻又放低了。及至 2019 年春，應《銅聲同氣》邀稿，決心寫好文章，於是發奮上網搜集資料，怎料越寫越長，弄得要分期刊載。最後花了一年時間寫成，這大概又是一項紀錄。
　　全文分故事淺說、文本淺析、譯詩淺談、寫在之後四部分。雖然資料泰半取自網上，唯文責仍須自負。

Forgiven, I've been forgiven;

In the image of God, we were made long ago,
with the purpose divine, here his glory to show.
